Sometimes I think I understand;
sometimes I know I don't.

'Cause it's an uneven foundation we sit on,
where we try so hard to reveal our scars,
while refusing to take off our garments.

And every meaningful word said to the other
is analogy. Every time we open our mouths
it's a poem. Every time we breathe a sigh,
we spin a tale.

And why?
Because sometimes
my heart feels
like an
over-stuffed
file
cabinet
,
and if I open it up,
all the pages will spill onto the floor
again.
