The broomstick, said to be the fastest ever, which Harry Potter is given in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone after demonstrating his natural ability at flying.
Harry uses this broomstick to play the position of Seeker at Quidditch for the Gryffindor team with great success.
Harry's Nimbus 2000 is destroyed by the Whomping Willow in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and is replaced by a Firebolt, an even better broomstick, which was sent to him by Sirius Black.
Other broomsticks mentioned in Harry Potter are the Firebolt, Nimbus Two Thousand and One, as used by Draco Malfoy and the Slytherin Quidditch team, and Comet Two Sixty.
