British actress best known for her
starring role as Lynda Day in the children's series
Press Gang. She also had a supporting
role as Saffron in
Absolutely Fabulous, and more recently was the
voice of
Ginger in the
movie Chicken Run. She of course does a lot of work in
Britain we don't get to see on this side of the pond, which is a rotten deal
IMHO, because she's terrific. My favourite of her roles has been as Nina in the
Kenneth Branagh film A Midwinter's Tale, (also called
In The Bleak Midwinter).
Born on September 9, 1968 in London, England, she is the daughter of actor Nadim Sawalha.
