Agustin Barrios Mangore

Probably one of Mangore's easiest, partly because it's to be played at a relaxed solemn pace. It still presents its own challenges, and the many long-held first-finger bars make it an excellent exercise for developing strength in the left hand.

It's in 2/4 time, and each note is a 16th note triplet. Each of the blocks below is one bar. It tends to repeat one pattern twice in each bar, and I've used hardlnks to highlight where this is not the case, as these can be hard to spot.

The fingering underneath the tablature is notated as follows:

The numbers indicate which finger of the left hand is used to finger the note on the fretboard - no numbers are given for open strings)

The letters represent the fingers of the right hand which are used to strike the note:

  • t -- thumb
  • i -- index finger
  • m -- middle finger
  • a -- annular (ring) finger
