Babylon Zoo was a British band who put it all on the line, hoping for a foothold in North America, but seemed to have turned into the classic One Hit Wonder.

The lead "singer" was Jas Mann, born 1971 in Dudley, England. He formed the short-lived band Sandkings, and later created a mini-art collective called New Atlantis Productions. Their debut album, The Boy with the X-Ray Eyes (1996), was known for only one super-hit, the song "Spaceman". The second single from the album, "Animal Army", resulted in dismal returns in North America, prompting their label, EMI Records, to drop the band.

The band is no longer in its original form, but Mann is still recording, and is rumoured to have re-signed with EMI to do some producing work.
