Definition: A high explosive material. Octanitrocubane is a cubic shaped ring of carbons with eight nitro groups attached to it. As of the date 2000.08.08, it is the most powerfull crystaline high explosive publically known. Like its predecessors RDX (of C-4 fame) and HMX (used in the explosive lenses of nukes) octanitrocubane can be mixed with plasticizing binder agents to create a plastic explosive material which can be handled with a relative degree of safety and molded with ease.
