Raphael is the witty teenage mutant ninja turtle. When the turtles are entering a situation that was somewhat uncomfortable, or dangerous, you can always count on Raphael to make light of it with a wise-ass remark. An example is when the turtles first saw shredder in his battle armor in their first movie, the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife (or sai, as the case may be). Raphael still had the presence of mind to quip "Well, whatever it is, it doesn't need a can opener."
Raphael's rudeness is largely a cover for a rather moody and angsty attitude. He will often go off by himself, and get in some sort of trouble as a result. Although he has a troublesome exterior, Raphael still has a heart of gold, and would do anything for his brothers: Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo.
Raphael wears a red facemask, and his favorite weapon is the sai. He will often partner up with Leonardo, whose all-business attitude is a good contrast to his no-business mockery, and hilarious antics ensue.
