According to dictionary.com, it's not youngin, it's not youngun, but young'un which means a "young one" or a child. It's pronounced young-in however.

My friends and I tend to use this term to refer to young High School 15 year old girls who go out with College guys. Connotatively, we associate young'uns with pre-pubescent girls.
