Women's Offroad Mountain Bike And Tea Society, a
network for
mountain bikers of the
female persuasion, founded
by
Jacqui Phelan somwhere around
1986 (parts of what would become
WOMBATS had already been around before that time). They host meetings,
organize weekly rides and stage an
annual Teacup Tango.
At the time of this writing WOMBATS has chapters in
Colorado, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Alaska, as well as
prospective international chapters in British Columbia, Norway
and Sweden.
