It is not singing.
It is not even truly loud...it's just beneath normal hearing levels, so that you can't quite ignore it.
It is not intelligible.
It is the unconcious need of somebody listening to loud music on headphones to sing along with whatever it is they are hearing, without actually singing.
It is also one of the most annoying sounds in the universe.
