A species of evergreen tree described in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels. Found in Westland and also in the Midlands, the large wayward pine grows in such a way that the interior can be used like a natural tent. Travelers resting or camping within are shielded from the elements (and from view) by the dense outer layer of pine needles. Because of the peculiar manner of growth, it is even possible to light a small campfire inside without the threat of asphyxiation from smoke build-up.
