Since I became a vegetarian many years ago, I have become a compulsive reader of products' Tables of Contents. You'd be amazed at some of the things you find there.

Citrus flavored sodas often contain Brominated Vegetable Oil and/or Glycerol Ester of Wood Rosin. Mmmm, that's my tasty substance!
Jujyfruits contain Petrolatum. Vaseline does, indeed, stick to your teeth.
Hair Dye includes Nonoxynol-9. One wonders how its spermicidal properties were discovered.
Nearly all Ramen flavor packets include animal products. It didn't used to be that way.
Shampoo is thickened with table salt. (This is from a friend who works for a major shampoo manufacturer.)
Butterfinger and 5th Avenue bars are chock-full of cornflakes.
Chewy variations of hard candies (such as Chewy Spree and Chewy Sweetarts) are chewy because of the egg whites within.
Some cigarettes contain chocolate.
