With respect to EverQuest, an uber-mob is a very difficult monster that requires the efforts of a large number of people to defeat. Classic examples of uber-mobs in EverQuest are Lord Nagafen and Cazic Thule. In other games these mobs would be called boss mobs, however in EverQuest the use of the word uber has become very popular thus the phrase uber-mob was coined.
