Twinkies refers to the position that snare drummers snap their sticks to at the end of a performance piece. This is especially important at the end of a competition piece. It could mean the difference between a "great" performance and a "pretty good" performance.
At the culmination of an arrangement, the drummer simultaneously snaps his head up from his playing position to attention and snaps his sticks together. He holds them horizontally at belly button level, with the tip of one stick and the base of the other in each hand. He holds them perfectly parallel, perfectly still.

The information above refers to snare drummers in fife and drum corps. At this time I do not know if other drum corps also refer to this position as "twinkies".
