twas the night before eye surgery
And all through my bod
My fears were a flutter,
Race did my heart
I'd told my coworkers I would not be in,
And received their mocking with polite chagrin.
The jokes flew to and fro, "hope they do not slip."
"Don't look into laser with remaining eye."
I sit here and wonder, how blind will I be?
Can it be? Tomorrow, sunset will I see?
My lover supports me and makes me forget,
The 2% failure that I might add to.
