A triple-double is one of the most amazing feats in all of basketball. It is also one of the most difficult tasks to perform.

A triple-double means that you have double figures in three statistical categories. These categories include points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. The most common triple-double is those involving points, rebounds and assists. For example, a player can have 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, and that would be a triple-double. Basically, double figures (more than nine in particular category) in three categories.

Now, other combinations are also possible, but very unlikely, because it is very difficult to get a double in blocks or steals, although it has been done before. Players such as Shawn Bradley, who have no talent when it comes to passing the ball, but are extremely tall (about seven foot, six inches), can get a triple-double in points, rebounds and blocks. Again, this is very unlikely.

Some players who are known for their triple-doubles are Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabar, and Jason Kidd. Jason Kidd is the only active player from these players mentioned.
