A vacuum pump that works by ionizing a number of titanium atoms and releasing them. The ions eventually collide with particles and bond to them. The resulting compound is much heavier, and so it falls to the bottom of the vacuum chamber, lowering the pressure inside. Often used to achieve ultra-high vacuum.
