An artifically created English word, based on Greek words meaning "God's law". The word evokes a deliberate contrast with "autonomy," meaning self-law.

Theonomy holds up a particular view of God's law: the human race, both generally and specifically, is bound to keep the whole of God's law, including all the Mosaic (civil and judicial) laws given to Israel as a nation (see Leviticus), as well as the more familiar laws which are summarised in the Ten Commandments.

Given that God is all-powerful, and given that God has quite unambiguously given us these Laws to live by, theonomy is the only sane form of government: If God created the world and all that is in it, how then can God's dominion over these things be questioned? Easy: It can't.

moJoe: We represent God, you fuck! He said we should take charge, and that settles it. The proof is easy: Just read the Bible, it's right there, in black and white. Proving the existence of God in court is easy, too: He created the court. Q.E.D.

"Give to Caesar what is Caesars give to God what is his."

Straight from the mans mouth, see; even Jesus was for the separation of church and state. :P
You would also be hard pressed to prove the existence of "God" in court. He has been rather absentee as of late; perhaps we should hold off giving control of the world over to you until he arrives, eh?
