The Old Country

The old country is a term used by Russians to describe the Soviet Union back in "The Good Old Days". More commonly used by Elderly Russians living in the United States, the term applies less to the Vast Majority of the cold war and more to Post-Czar Pre World War II Russia, seeing as the Cold war was pretty bad for the Soviet Union.

Also refers to Europe in general, particularly Eastern Europe, by octogenarian immigrants from that bygone age of Bolshevism and anarchist secret societies dedicated to uniting the Balkan Peninsula in a great Pan-Slav state.
