A punk rock band formed in 1986. They used to play TSOL-influenced punk rock on their self-titled album, and evolved into their own style with 1992's Ignition and 1994's platinum-selling Smash. Recently, 1997's Ixnay on the Hombre and especially 1999's Americana have been decidedly not punk rock, though they still have some good rock songs. Dexter Holland, the band's lead singer, owns Nitro Records.
