Tetracyclines are oral antibiotics that are used to combat skin diseases. Tetracycline, or one of its derivatives (doxycycline, minocycline, lymecycline, demeclocycline), is prescribed by doctors for acne, rosacea and other skin conditions. Tetracyclines have very promising results. One thing to keep in mind is that tetracyclines only suppress these conditions, and do not cure them. Therefore these antibiotics need to be continued until the disease runs it course, which can take months or even years. Longterm treatment with tetracycline is remarkably safe; there has been over 30 years experience with the medication.

Personal Experience: This is my first attempt to control my face with a prescription medicine. It hasn't been great, but Tetracycline is still better than what I've been able to buy over the counter.
