A taste profile is the what food scientists and marketing people believe divides the world's people taste preferences into neat market segments. For example it is widely regarded as fact amonst the taste profile camp that Americans have a preference for foods which are sweeter, and have a higher fat content-- while Europeans like food that is more salty.
