A stockman is a fallacious term to describe Wal-Mart workers who collect shopping carts from the Wal-Mart parking lot and return them to the store. Occasionally they are used to help customers carry out large items such as desks and entertainment centers and lawnmowers, but never more. From its sounds, you would think a stockman would get to stock merchandise, but that is just Wal-Mart's bewildering word to get cart pushers hired.

Stock"man (?), n.; pl. Stockmen ().

A herdsman; a ranchman; one owning, or having charge of, herds of live stock.
