I think you're referring to Post-It Notes, kcalder, but that's cool with me.

Stickies are, however, the Official Name for the Mac OS utility that provides digital Post-Its on the user's screen.

Written by Jens Alfke in 1993 and licensed by Apple Computer in 1995, Stickies has become a much loved part of the Macintosh experience.
