The soil cycle is the path taken by carcasses, turds and dead plants. They
decompose by stages, and eventually turn into
soil. The soil is eaten by
plants, which may be eaten by
animals. Then the plants and animals poop and die, the decomposers move in and munch, and the cycle starts again.
A simplistic view, but a cool one.
