A useful scroll that, when read, allows you to identify 1 or more items, or (possibly, if blessed) all carried items. The cursed version will only identify a single item.

Of course, the obvious problem is how to identify scrolls of identify, without having to read unidentified scrolls (a bad idea due to the possibility of a scroll of punishment, scroll of fire, scroll of amnesia, scroll of destroy armor, or other bad scrolls). Identify scrolls will always be the cheapest scrolls for sale in a shop (around 15 zorkmids, less if cursed), and they also sell for the least if you try to sell them to a shopkeeper (around 10 zorkmids). A supply of identify scrolls, or the spellbook of identify, is highly useful for completing the game.
