A peculiar and no doubt painful condition in which one leg is permanently twisted in front of the other. It can arise from deformity of the hips, or because the adductor muscles have gone spastic after brain damage (e.g. a stroke).
The condition can sometimes be ameliorated by a tenotomy, an operation to surgically divide an over-active tendon.
