Rusty was the name of Rin tin Tin's best friend.
This young scout who was adopted by the soldiers of Fort Apache was originally played by Lee William Aaker which was born in 1943 and was around 10 years old at this time (1954).

Paul "Rusty" Russel is the demigod currently in charge of developing the different IP firewalling systems in Linux. These come in three flavors, IPfwadm, IPchains and IPtables, with IPtables being designed by Rusty more or less from scratch.
