A rich suit of clothing ceremonially presented by a king to someone who has greatly pleased him. Presentation of robes of honor seems to have been solely an Eastern custom; I've never heard of anything like this in Western tradition, but the stories in the Arabian Nights (which are primarily from Arabia, Persia, and India) have lots of it.
