radius rod

Automotive Term

A radius rod is a part of the suspension system on some automobiles. They are affixed solidly to the axle, and can pivot where they are attached to the frame. The purpose of a radius rod is to keep the axle at a right angle to the frame, (to prevent it from moving sideways, while still allowing for an up and down motion).
