Problematic dilution of radio content in the
U.S.A. After the
FCC loosened ownership rules,
mega-corporations bought up scads of
radio stations and
optimized their music for
maximum profit -- i.e. made them all sound the same, because if a song works once, by golly it'll work everywhere. Has led to a falloff in radio listenership, precisely
because all stations sound the same. As a result, some
FM stations have dropped music in favor of
talk formats.
Sad.
