A pyogenic granuloma is a small lesion on the skin, that is elevated, and contains blood vessels. The exact causes are unknown, but they often appear at the site of a recent trauma. The most common areas on which a pyogenic granuloma appears are the hands, arms and face. The most common sufferers are children.

Due to the easily bleeding nature of the granuloma, treatment is desirable. In small cases it should heal on its own, but when larger, surgery, whether with scalpel, LASER or freezing is necessary. If not completely removed, recurrence is very common.
