A system for injecting diesel fuel under high pressure.

Every cylinder in the internal combustion engine gets its own pump, which raises the pressure at which the diesel is injected.

This makes possible higher pressures compared to the competing common rail system.

Extensively used by Volkswagen to make good, powerful, silent and damn fast engines.
