Private servers are computers sharing resources. They differ from public servers by policy. They are configured and managed by administrators who intend that the resources shared by these servers are limited to a specific group of people like organizations and workgroups. Using different network configurations and/or network protections to provide physical or virtual access challenges, administrators strive to keep private servers protected from public users.
