Military shorthand for 'Prepositioned' or 'prepositioning.' The most widely-known use of this term refers to POMCUS units placed in Europe for the use of American NATO forces in the event of war. In recent years, this has also referred to dedicated sealift vessels 'prepacked' with materièl which can be quickly deployed.
