A rather fancy fruit or, more correctly, the plant whence it comes. The fruit is delicious and sweet. In appearance it is a small orange ball maybe 2 cm across which resides within a brown, papery lantern (probably the sepals of the flower).

They would make an excellent dessert were one preparing a meal for a date. As they look good and you get to use your fingers to eat them - very sensuous.
