A phone tree is a list of people in the organization. It is started when the first person on the list calls the second person on the list and tells him/her the important news. The second person on the list then calls the third person and tells him/her the same important news. Then the third calls the fourth, and the fourth calls the fifth, ect..until everyone has been called.
If for some reason a personA cannot reach personB, personA is responsible
for calling both personB and personC, where personC is the one that personB was supposed to call.
