'Organza' is a type of sheer, lightweight fabric, with a medium to high yarn count. It is generally made from silk, rayon, nylon, or polyester. It is much finer than tissue, and can be crinkled upon steaming. Organza with a higher percentage of silk is considered to be finer, and is generally more expensive. The finest organza is called 'Kataan Organza'.

Organza is most often used in evening and wedding apparel for women.
