Style of spectacle worn by geeks, Morrissey and Chris Evans. Very practical thick rimmed glasses that are not flattering at all. Originally supplied by the National Health Service for free. If you wanted a more attractive style then you had to pay for them. Geeks often break their glasses and have to repair them with an elastoplast.
