Mystic orders are groups of strange people who develop or use complex esoteric information usually referred to as "the teachings" to either a) bring about a mystic experience, b) teach an occult system, or c) practice a particular religion. Common mystic orders include the Freemasons, the Rosicrucian Order, the Hermetic Order, but not the Elks.
