In electric terminology, refers to the power you get out of the wall. In the United States, this is usually 110 volts at 60 hertz AC.

Also, the plural of "main", when that word is used as a noun, in the sense of a water main or gas main, which is to say, a main pipe for conveying that commodity to an area.
