A larger lunch box once carried by working men to their place of work, often a factory. A kind of portable trading post for things like sandwiches and bananas. Sometimes they were very large indeed, which allowed the occasional removal of surplus inventory from the premises, a kind of salty profit-sharing plan frowned-on by the harsh taskmasters of that day.
