A
logical fallacy in which the
explanation for a
phenomenon explains only the phenomenon and
nothing else. Something so
specific to only one
thing is likely
incomplete at best.
Example: "They're loners because their parents were always gone doing something else." This may explain why members of that group tends to be loners, but not other groups or anything else.
To prove the fallacy, identify the phenomenon and show that the explanation explains nothing else but that.
