The labia majora are large folds of skin that extend anteriorly to the mons pubis and posteriorly to the anal sphincter. The labia minora are the smaller, inner folds of skin in the middle of the labia majora.

Some comparative anatomy:

Does everyone know that the labia majora are analogous to the scrotum in males? They form from the same tissue in the foetus.

The round ligament, which attaches to the uterus and passes through the inguinal canal, attaches to the labia majora? In males, the inguinal canal contains the spermatic cord which ends up in the scrotum.
