kiteless was the first music video compilation released by Underworld. It was originally released in the UK in 1996, covering all videos from the albums dubnobasswithmyheadman and Second Toughest in the Infants. All the videos came out of Tomato's weirdness factory. All the songs are mixed together as well, with little snippets of trademark Underworld sounds and trademark Tomato video in between. This cassette, oddly enough, doesn't feature even a bit of the song "kiteless".

In 1997, something interesting happened. Underworld became one of those bands on every soundtrack. They showed up in Trainspotting, The Saint, and Batman and Robin, if not more. Wax Trax!/TVT, Underworld's US label at the time, decided to dress up kiteless in a new box, give it a new title ("Footwear Repairs by Craftsmen at Competitive Prices") and put two new videos on it.
