Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis

Daughter of a dissolute New York stockbroker, "Black Jack" Bouvier, and grand-daughter, on her mother's side, of a Bank President, Jackie Bouvier had a pampered upbringing. She was named "Deb of the year" in 1947 and gained a reputation as a posh socialite. In 1953 she married future US president John F Kennedy to whom she bore a daughter, Caroline Bouvier Kennedy, in 1957, and a son, John Kennedy Jr. in 1961. Widowed in 1963, in 1968 she married Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, 23 years her senior, to be widowed again in 1975.
