Irish half-uncial is a calligraphy script that was used in Ireland from about the 7th Century through the 10th Century. It doesn't distinguish between upper-case and lower-case letters, and is characterized by very rounded letters. Some rather famous books (the Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels) are written in this style.
