A large enclosed bin in which garbage is burned. Often used to eliminate municipal waste, medical waste, etc. An important source of air pollution.

The pollution created by burning garbage is mainly dioxin, a dangerous component that can cause health problems espescially cancer. To reduce pollution from incinerators, filters can be placed on the exhaust pipes but the cost of those filters suggests that recycling garbage is a more interesting solution.
