Chemical denomination: HCN

Also known as prussic acid. A highly toxic colourless liquid (at room temperature). It is made from ammonia and methane reacted with air in the presence of a catalyst.

HCN forms weakly acidic solutions in water, and is used in making synthetic fibres, and also as a fumigant.
