There are a number of ways to use runes for divination. I will outline three simple ones here.

The seeker should meditate on a question as they cast the runes.

Three Rune Spreads
(numbers correspond to the order in which the runes should be drawn and placed)

3 - 2 - 1

The first rune is the seeker's current situation.
The second rune is descriptive of the new situation.
The third rune is a second description of the new situation.

3 - 2 - 1

The first rune is the seeker at present.
The second rune is the upcoming challenge that the seeker will face.
The third rune is the best possible outcome to the situation.

The Runic Cross

The second rune is the seeker's past.
The third rune is the seeker's future.
The fourth rune is the foundation of the seeker's present life.
The fifth rune is the challenge the seeker is currently facing or is about to face.

You can also ask yes or no questions with runes. Meditate on a question that can be answered with a yes or no, and as you ask the question, reach into your bag. If the rune you draw out is upright, the answer is yes; if it is reversed, the answer is no. If you draw a rune without a reversed aspect, replace it and draw another.
